Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planner with 5-7+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized financial plans.  Our firm’s financial planning focus areas are investment management, retirement planning, tax efficiency, and estate planning. This role requires deep expertise in financial planning principles, strong communication skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess a client’s risk tolerance and recommend an investment strategy.
  • Accurately summarize a client’s existing estate planning documents and identify when they need updated.
  • Forecast a client’s current year tax return.  Also be able to spot potential tax difficulties and strategies to prevent them.
  • Identify opportunities for Roth Conversions and Gain/Loss Harvesting.
  • Think creatively to find multiple solutions for a client’s situation.  Additionally, collaborate with clients to find the best fit.
  • Create a cohesive cash flow strategy that will help a client reach their financial goals with confidence.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner to ensure all client needs are met.
  • Document meeting notes and prepare client follow up timely.
  • Work within a team to continually improve client service, providing constructive feedback and suggestions.
  • Stay informed on financial regulations, tax laws, and estate planning strategies to provide proactive advice.
  • Collaborate with internal investment, compliance, and operations teams to provide a seamless client experience.
  • Educate clients on financial concepts, market trends, and risk management strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-7+ years of experience in financial, estate, and tax planning within a wealth management firm.  Deep experience with tax planning is a plus.
  • CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation required; additional credentials such as CPA or ChFC are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of trust structures, charitable giving, and tax laws affecting high-net-worth individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts whether to a recent widow or a successful business owner.
  • Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Orion, eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) and CRM systems.  Familiarity with Holistiplan and Pulse 360 is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
